First day in Portugal an Amarante and Douro Valley Sojourn

| Two weeks ago, I joined a week trip by Relais & Chateaux Hotels and Restaurants, to visit all their current properties in Galicia, Spain and all over Portugal. After a lovely stay in Santiago de Compostela at A Quinta da Auga Hotel & Spa, our journey continued onwards to Portugal, and our first stop was in the charming town of Amarante.
